An app password is a 16-digit passcode that gives a specific app or device permission to access your Google Account. App passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on.
Enable 2-Step Verification
Log into your Google Account https://myaccount.google.com/
Search for 2 Step
and select 2-Step Verification
Turn on 2-Step Verification if it is not already enabled
After you turn on 2-Step Verification, you must complete a second step to verify it’s you when you sign in. To help protect your account, Google will ask that you complete a specific second step.
Enable IMAP in Gmail
Log in to your Gmail https://mail.google.com/
Click settings, See All settings
Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP
Click Enable IMAP
Click Save.
You will be asked to Verify yourself with your 2-Step Verification method.
Create An App Password
Log into your Google Account https://myaccount.google.com/
Search for App and select App Passwords
You will be prompted to log into your account again
Type the App Name Verify and click Create
Google will create a password just for Verify. You will need to share this password with us.
Click Done.
Removing Access
You can withdraw access at anytime by opening your Google Account and searching for App Password and deleting the password.
